Paul Stewart's badminton journey began at age 11, swiftly propelling him to first division league play by the age of 14. Despite facing a career-ending car accident at 25, Paul's passion for the sport endured. Transitioning to coaching, he obtained his coaching qualifications in 1987 and swiftly earned the prestigious Advanced Coach Award through dedicated training at esteemed institutions like Lilleshall and Leeds University. Under the tutelage of renowned coach Brian Roper, Paul refined his coaching techniques, molding players who achieved Senior County honors.
From 1995 to 1999, Paul served as the Head Coach for the Greater Manchester Junior Badminton Association, guiding his teams to notable successes, including a third-place finish at the 1999 ICT tournament. After a hiatus, Paul rekindled his involvement in badminton in 2009, coaching private clients, organizing residential coaching weekends, and mentoring the Manchester Metropolitan University team.
