We are Europe's leading premium health and wellness group operating 133 clubs 103 clubs in the UK and a further 30 clubs across mainland Europe, comprising three brands David Lloyd Clubs, Harbour Clubs and David Lloyd Meridian Spa and Fitness in Germany.
Our clubs provide the perfect destinations to stay fit and healthy as a family. Facilities include state-of-the-art gyms, heated indoor and outdoor pools, top-class racquets facilities, well- equipped group exercise studios and luxurious spas. Our History
1982
David Lloyd Leisure is founded by former professional tennis player David Lloyd, with the vision of creating high-quality fitness destinations suitable for the whole family. The first club, David Lloyd Heston, opens its doors.
1995
With 18 clubs operating in the UK, David Lloyd Leisure is acquired by British leisure giant Whitbread.
2013
Private equity firm TDR purchases David Lloyd Leisure from Whitbread. At this point, the total number of clubs stands at 90.
Present
David Lloyd Leisure's network has expanded to 130 clubs, through a combination of acquisitions and new builds, maintaining its reputation for combining fitness and tennis in a family-friendly environment. David Lloyd Heston, the inaugural club, continues to operate successfully.
